Go Modern is seeking a showroom sales consultant to join its team in London.
We are looking for a retail and trade sales consultant with experience in high-end European furniture brands, to join our friendly showroom in Chelsea, London. Our brands include Bonaldo, Cattelan, Porada, Molteni, Bontempi, Lema, Novamobili, Tribu and many more.
About you
You will be personable, well-spoken and presented, and confident – happy to deal with our clients, even when they are not happy (who also include interior designers and architects), without being fazed.
We are not looking for CAD designers, but if you have experience using CAD software that would be very helpful. Equally, we are happy to have you learn as you go if you have experience in the type of furniture we sell.
Requirements
The successful candidate would start almost immediately (before April). As this is a role we would like filled quickly we, unfortunately, can’t do much product training. You will therefore need plenty of experience selling high-end made-to-order Italian furniture (dining, living and bedroom) and, either immediately or after training, made-to-measure wardrobes, wall units etc. The occasional site visit may be required and you will sometimes need to go to Italy or Belgium (outdoor furniture) for product training etc.
Great product knowledge is a must: we have over 30 brands of products with hundreds of options so you will need to know your way around a European price book, not to mention knowing the merits of the different finishes, how to work with different fabrics and how to make sure everything works well together.
You will also need to be proficient in:
- Microsoft Office (especially Excel and of course Outlook)
- website e-commerce software (for order entry and small product information changes where needed)
- experience in Photoshop, 3Dmax, FileMaker/another CRM and Dropbox are all great to have but not essential
- if you are a whizz in social media and would like that to be part of your role that’s no problem too
The role
This is not a home-working role, so you’ll need to be reasonably local. There’s bike/e-scooter storage and we are about 12 minutes walk from the District line and the London Overground.
We are looking for a sociable team player, who enjoys working in this industry, who can get on well with our small team and who will do what we need (within reason, but it can be a varied role).
We aren’t looking for interior designers, but rather, motivated sales consultants who enjoy design and can help advise some of our clients. You’ll need to be computer savvy too – a lot of what we do requires you to use various IT systems.
Hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (with one day off during the week) and Saturday 11am to 4pm. We may also stay open for our trade clients, until 7pm one night during the week, probably Tuesday or Wednesday, but are currently not.
We have a team and individual commission scheme (in addition to an industry-standard salary). We have a company pension scheme, and have a lovely showroom in a great location, with plenty of potential customers – though we are not a ‘shop’ and do not get masses of visitors.
