Goldfinger is hiring a UK sales manager to join its team in London.

The UK sales manager role is fundamental to the successful growth and visibility of the brand. You will be responsible for co-developing and executing Goldfinger’s sales strategy to achieve the company’s commercial targets. Duties will include working with interior designers and architects to help them realise their objectives, proactively networking to drive sales growth, delivering CPDs, and collaborating closely with the Head of Design and Production to pull together proposals and quotes and ensure timely delivery of assets and projects to clients. You will be required to attend weekly sales meetings, track and analyse sales data, and update the client database. You will be one of the faces of the brand, so you must live and breathe the brand’s mission and vision.

You will be responsible for the entire sales cycle with trade and private clients, from generating sales leads, driving sales engagement, developing project briefs, and negotiating sales, to delivering impeccable customer service before and after sales. Excellent interpersonal skills and negotiating skills will be essential to generate new business and secure sales from seasoned trade buyers and private individuals.

You will also be responsible for achieving sales objectives working closely with, and managing, agents, partners and online sales platforms. As Goldfinger grows, you will be required to develop and deliver a calendar of trade partnerships, fairs and other commercial events that are brand-aligned and are sales-centric.

This role would suit a candidate with strong commercial experience in design or furniture, who is well versed in the language of sustainability, carbon impact, wellness, materials, and environmental accreditations and who is looking to make an impact within a sustainable, values-led organisation.

Reports to: general sales manager

Working pattern: three to four days a week, flexible working considered

Base Salary: £35-42k FTE, depending on experience, plus a commission scheme.

Location: offices in Central London

Roles and responsibilities

Lead generation: responsible for the expansion of the brand’s customer base of values-aligned commercial clients and high-end residential clients to achieve growth and hit sales targets.

Sales: responsible for the full sales cycle of bespoke and retail pieces to trade and private clients who share our values of sustainability, inclusivity and good design. Sales cycle includes quoting, invoicing, client agreements, payment plans, production and financial tracking, logistics and post sales services.

Client relationships: build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.

Brand ambassador: advocate for Goldfinger’s services in formal presentations to architects, designers and targeted organisations, and at events, trade shows, conferences and seminars as well as.

Sales and marketing strategy: co-develop and execute Goldfinger’s sales and marketing strategy working closely with the General Sales Manager and the Marketing Lead.

Partners, agents and online sales platforms: develop strong relationships that support the brand’s presence in the market and manage sales on Online Sales Platforms.

Trade shows and events: as the business grows, work closely with the General Sales Manager to organise and plan participation in key events and trade fairs.

Database: responsible for ensuring the client database is being used and updated correctly so that sales outreach can be assessed and marketing activities are as effective as possible.

Sales tracker: you will be trained to update Goldfinger’s sales and financial tracker. You will become responsible for updating the financial tracker, used to monitor cash flow and manage a budget.

Reporting: present pipeline and sales to the General Sales Manager on a weekly basis and to the wider team on a monthly basis.

Person specification

Essential:

  • five plus years’ of relevant business development or sales experience within the high-end design and architecture industries in the UK
  • a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • excellent relationship builder with strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills both inside and outside the organisation
  • basic knowledge of industry sustainability standards and wider environmental topics, and familiar with the benefits and properties of natural materials such as wood

Desirable:

  • experience with and understanding of construction drawings
  • understanding the manufacturing and running of a woodworking workshop
  • technical knowledge of furniture and product-making processes
  • knowledge of various software suites (GSuite, Xero)
