Gustafson Porter + Bowman is seeking a practice manager to join its team in London.
Gustafson Porter + Bowman is an award-winning landscape architecture practice which has received public acclaim for creating engaging, beautiful and sustainable spaces around the world.
We are looking for a proactive and efficient, friendly and inclusive practice manager to lead the smooth running of our studio near Camden Town.
As a key member of the support team, the practice manager supervises and is assisted by the office coordinator. The practice manager also works with the finance team and the new business coordinator, alongside supporting the partners in the running of the practice.
Skills and experience:
- excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- proven track record in supporting teams
- proficient in Outlook, Teams and other key Microsoft Office software
- knowledge of InDesign, project management software and accounting software an advantage
- knowledge of relevant HR and health and safety requirements
- commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity in all working practices
- experience in architecture, executive support, buildings and facilities management an advantage
Key tasks
Day-to-day running of the practice:
- manage the office calendar and support the management of the partners’ schedules
- lead and chair office meetings and partners’ practice management meetings
- manage partner input to key practice management areas and lead annual audit
- manage IT arrangements in close coordination with partner leads and third-party IT support provider, prioritising sustainability and efficiency
- ensure that office health and safety, fire and first aid requirements are met, and that employees understand these requirements and any delegated responsibilities
- manage practice contracts, insurances, memberships and accreditations
- champion practice sustainability and social engagement efforts
Human resources:
- lead HR engagement with the team, from recruitment to exit, with empathy and professionalism
- ensure that HR documentation and policies are compliant with legal requirements and best practice
- manage and continuously improve team benefits
- lead induction training and support colleagues’ mentoring and reviews
- support the organisation of team social events
BGP studio building management:
- administrate 1a tenant leases and contracts
- building maintenance and utilities management
