HÁM is seeking a Vectorworks CAD technician to join its team remotely to work on retail stores for Varley.

Vectorworks CAD technician (all levels considered).

Remote/hybrid, 6 to 12 months fixed term contract, full-time, five days per week.

This role is to assist the team with the design and development of the Varley project, working closely with our team leader, from design concept stage through to manufacture and installation.

Vectorworks CAD technician’s responsibilities

Creating drawings:

• using 2D Vectorworks to create and refine technical drawings: plans, sections and elevations
• preparing and managing drawings packs throughout each project: concept, design intent, design development and construction drawings
• show a keen eye for detail and work to a high standard
• spatial planning, MEP layouts, FF&E schedules, lighting designs, floor and wall finish plan and elevation with setting out dimensions, reflected ceiling plans, door schedules, service plans and more

Collaborating with others:

• converse with suppliers and contractors at times, to discuss a design and highlight problems as they occur and problem solve
• maintain a high level of organisation and professionalism, achieving deadlines and keeping good communication with the team throughout

Managing documentation:

• produce, coordinate and manage schedules as required
• organising project documentation and keep records up to date

Required for the role:

• experience in high-end commercial projects
• experience with 2D Vectorworks is essential, 3D Vectorworks would be advantageous
• general knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, timbers, metals, finishes and joinery
• proficiency in Excel, InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp useful but not essential
