Harrison Pursey is recruiting a mid-weight FF&E designer on behalf of BIG MAMMA GROUP to join its busy team in London.

Are you a midweight FF&E designer with experience of working on high end creative projects in the hospitality sector?

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join this successful and hugely popular restaurant group and work on iconic and highly creative projects, creating the coolest spaces in the world!!  Their style is high end, detailed, fun and very creative, with lots of vintage and bespoke pieces and unique designs for each of their restaurants.

With new openings scheduled in seven countries in the next three years, this is an exciting time to join and be involved in the growth and success of the company, as well as having scope for personal development and growth.

Experience required:

  • three plus years’ experience, ideally with a leading creative studio, working on restaurant/hospitality design projects. A knowledge and understanding of the running and delivery of projects is essential

Responsibilities

The FF&E designer will work with the lead senior ID designers and FF&E associate on several projects simultaneously to achieve the following:

  • collaborate in the presentation of a strong, unique design concept through moodboards and kick-ass FF&E suggestions
  • source, suggest and research the BEST suppliers and content for the job. Have a thirst to meet new people, find the gems
  • get stuck into the detail with an eagle eye
  • create highly detailed, accurate FF&E Schedules showcasing FF&E (furniture, curtains, lighting, artwork and accessories)
  • attend overseas site visits and meet suppliers
  • manage global project installations, dressing and styling

Skills:

  • highly proficient in Excel
  • proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign)
  • freehand sketching or knowledge of SketchUp (desirable)
  • abasic level of AutoCAD (desirable)

Abilities:

  • exceptional eye for colour, texture, finish and fittings that complete an Instagram worthy-interior space
  • have a knowledge and passion for design, art and materials across different eras, regions and fashions
  • highly organised and detailed
  • work well under pressure and to deadlines, either on your own or as part of a team
  • pragmatic with good problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • good initiative as well as an ability to follow instructions

This is a very busy, hands-on role which will suit somebody who is genuinely hard working and creative and who can hit the ground running. Working as part of a friendly and collaborative team, your input and ideas will be expected and welcomed – the studio has a unique ethos and style which will require you to be confident and bold in your work, with conviction in your ideas.

Start date: ASAP

Location: Soho, London plus travelling to their restaurants as required
