Haydon Finch Studio is seeking a senior Part 3 architect to join its team in London.
Our company
Haydon Finch Studio is an emerging design-led architectural and interior design practice. We have an exciting project list including prime residential refurbishments in west London, a new-build contemporary home in Sussex and two new Passivhaus dwellings in Dorset. On many of our projects we work alongside our sister company, Haydon Finch Construction, to offer our clients a turnkey design and construction solution.
We are looking for a talented Part 3 architect with a passion for great design, technical competence and detailed specification knowledge to join our London-based team. You will have proven experience completing a portfolio of well-designed residential projects.
We are offering the opportunity to be a project architect in our new Pimlico studio and become part of a new way of realising projects alongside our integrated build team.
Ideal candidates:
- fun, creative, collaborative and organised
- articulate in design culture, philosophy and trends
- confident in leading complex residential projects alongside large consultant teams
- capable of managing demanding clients, simultaneously working between multiple projects
- a good listener and fluent communicator in 2D, 3D, hand sketching and models
- able to generate sophisticated design presentations/technical information for pricing and construction
- efficiently produce a high standard of coordinated drawings, schedules and pricing
- strong grasp of architectural detailing including plans, internal elevations, RCPs, setting out, joinery, door and windows
- proven knowledge/experience of the planning process, building regulations and procurement routes
- ability to direct our build team and oversee the construction work
- experience of working within sensitive or listed buildings
- a personable individual who enjoys contributing to daily challenges in a busy practice
Role requirements:
- over three-plus years’ experience in a design-led practice
- fluent English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills
- CAD drawing (ideally Vectorworks)
- 3D visualisation (ideally SketchUp)
- Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
