Horizontal Design is hiring an interior architect to join its team in London.

Responsibilities:

• effectively produce and communicate design concepts to the design director
• lead projects with strong communication skills
• produce space layouts, colour schemes, materials and furnishings
• design bespoke furniture and lighting
• develop detailed drawing packages and specifications, with knowledge of building regulations and planning
• select and source furniture, fixtures, finishes and accessories that align with the design concept
• manage timelines and budgets, and oversee consultant and supplier information
• collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, functional needs and budget constraints
• coordinate with contractors, architects and other professionals to ensure smooth project execution
• oversee the installation of design elements and provide on-site support as needed
• manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

• five years’ experience in interior design, with two years minimum in the UK
• bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field
• proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is a must. Knowledge of Revit, Rhinoceros, Enscape, VRay and 3DS Max is a plus
• strong knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry standards
• excellent communication and presentation skills
• ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• project management experience is a plus
• background in architecture is preferred
