House of Kin is looking for a senior interior designer/architect to join our London team, bringing creativity, technical expertise, and leadership to an exciting international project. This is an opportunity to lead a hospitality and education project that balances playfulness, functionality, and strong narrative design-led thinking – creating spaces that feel as good as they look.

You’ll be hands-on, working four days a week (three from home, one in our London office), leading the project from concept to completion, ensuring that every detail is considered, curated, and completely aligned with our unique perspective on design.

A little about us

House of Kin is not your average design studio. We see the world a little differently – and we’re looking for people who do too. We’re a small team that designs warm, playful, and timeless spaces with a deep focus on storytelling.

Our work spans hospitality, education and family lifestyle spaces, where design isn’t just about how things look – it’s about how they make people feel. We create spaces that inspire joy, spark imagination, and bring people together.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, keep reading.

What you’ll be doing:

  • lead the design and delivery of a high-profile international project, ensuring creative excellence at every stage
  • develop and present concepts through mood boards, sketches, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • curate and oversee FF&E selection and procurement, sourcing the best materials, finishes, and details that tell a story
  • collaborate with clients, suppliers, and contractors to bring our vision to life
  • coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors for seamless project execution
  • ensure designs align with House of Kin’s signature aesthetic—inspiring, playful and beautifully curated
  • obsess over the details—because we know the magic is in the little things
  • travel as needed for UK and international projects

What we’re looking for:

  • six to eight years’ of experience in interior design/architecture, ideally with a background in hospitality and/or education projects
  • proven experience leading projects from start to finish – you’ve been the driving force behind at least two
  • a passion for creating high-quality, people-centred, and playful spaces that blend storytelling with functionality
  • strong conceptual and visualisation skills, with the confidence to present ideas clearly and persuasively
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape – plus freehand sketching ability
  • a meticulous eye for detail – from the big picture down to the tiniest finishing touches
  • deep knowledge of materials, finishes, and FF&E, with a finger on the pulse of emerging trends
  • excellent communication skills – you’re just as comfortable talking to clients as you are collaborating with the team
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing deadlines and budgets with ease
  • willingness to travel internationally when needed

Why join House of Kin?

  • work on inspiring, high-profile projects across the UK and internationally
  • enjoy a flexible working structure – a mix of remote and in-office collaboration
  • be part of a creative, supportive team that values authenticity, storytelling, and beautifully crafted design
  • have the freedom to push boundaries and bring bold, thoughtful ideas to life

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on being involved in every stage of a project, from the initial spark to the final flourish.

We would also consider this role as a freelance position.
