Jason Bruges Studio is seeking a junior 3D artist to join its team in London.

The company

Jason Bruges is internationally renowned as a pioneer of the hybrid space between art, architecture and technology. His artworks are site-specific, ‘sculptural barometers’ that tap into the emotional tapestry of a community or place by translating live feedback into living, breathing, spatial interventions.

In 2002, Jason set up Jason Bruges Studio where he works with talented team of architects, engineers, computational designers, creative technologists and project managers to deliver a diverse array of art projects world-wide. Some of the Studio’s most celebrated work includes The Constant Gardeners, a robotic zen garden which took place during the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games and Digital Phyllotaxy, a giant tree-like media artwork for Hankook Tire in Seoul.

Job purpose and key responsibilities:

  • working alongside and guidance of other team members
  • taking the design direction from the design and computational team to interpret, model, create, design and visualise the set brief
  • day-to-day work ranges from creating 3D procedural designs to high standard visuals, be they stills or animations
  • working across multiple 3D software packages, procedural geometry, complex simulations and algorithmic data-driven design, showing an ability to file share across these platforms, and adapt to the specifications of each
  • procedural 3D asset generation
  • optimising efficient rendering workflows
  • designing generative content that informs the studio’s interactive installations

Role objectives

Delivering high-quality 3D/4D designs and visualisations in a fast-paced environment using instructions, but with a set degree of independence. A high standard of quality must also be maintained.
