JinShang Group is seeking a marketing manager to join its team in London.

The marketing manager will be responsible for driving twenty-first century marketing practices within our organisation. The position increases brand awareness in the market, launches new services and lines of business, as well as designs and coordinates marketing campaigns designed to generate new business. Experience in all aspects of marketing, online and offline, as well as an interest in design and construction is desirable.
We respect that marketing is worthy of more intellectual rigor in our organisation and is necessary for us to make the journey from unacceptable to good, and finally to great. The marketing manager needs to achieve high credibility within our organisation, they will have advanced interpersonal skills and be experienced in creating marketing campaigns guided by market research. The candidate should know how to understand our target customer and how their buying decisions are made.
Background
WTL Design and JinShang are subsidiaries under the same ownership. One is an interior design company that offers turnkey solutions from first layout to construction completion. The other is a company that focuses on refurbishing buildings using our design expertise and leasing them out. Since our founding, the WTL Design and the JinShang teams have continued to grow and counts over 160 people to date.
Key responsibilities:
- market segmentation
- market research surveys
- launch new product and services
- analyse past data within the company to identify ideal customers and opportunities
- develop and improve the use of performance measures in the department
- learn about the latest thinking in marketing
- be the resident expert on our customers’ wants and needs
- replace annual planning by introducing quarterly rolling planning
- hire and train individuals within the department
- design WeChat posts, brochures and various other marketing materials
- manage the schedule for the content creation
- manage both short-term demands for content with long-term planning aligned with an overall branding strategy
- set the design aesthetic for the company’s public face
- write marketing materials in Chinese
- generate new leads and business opportunities through online and offline marketing campaigns
Job requirements:
To be successful in this role, you need to have an international mindset while being deeply knowledgeable about the Chinese market. You will have a full toolkit, having not only directed various roles within a marketing department, but also having done them yourself. You are able to fill in the gaps with your deep skill-set and hire and train an A team that gets results. You are also a process-oriented individual, who uses data collection to guide decision making and planning.
Qualifications and key competencies:
- you take a hands-on approach, with a full-stack knowledge of all aspects of marketing and communications
- you have a proven track record of taking a company’s marketing department from almost zero, to good and then to excellent
- you are a master communicator at all levels within a team or an organisation
- you are not scared to get in amongst the weeds while helping your team improve their skills
- you have five years’ experience working in marketing and branding with two years of management experience

This role is a full-time, on-site position and is based in our office in Beijing. The position invites applicants based in London who are willing to relocate to Beijing.
