Johanna Molineus Architects is hiring a studio manager to join its team in London.

Johanna Molineus Architects is looking for an ambitious studio manager to take ownership for the day-to-day management of the practice.

A mature and highly organised self-starter, you will have experience of working in a similar role within an architectural or design office. Good communication skills and a hands-on approach are essential, as well as a good understanding and/or interest in design.

Based in the heart of Soho, you will be part of a diverse and dynamic team working closely with the founder director, Johanna, on an expanding range of private residential, conservation and mixed-use projects.

Since its foundation in 2002, Johanna Molineus Architects has become renowned for its innovative and sensitive approach to design. We create tailor-made schemes for our clients, including private clients and national and private establishments. Our portfolio includes projects in the UK, France, Germany, and the Middle East. We are in an exciting period of growth, having recently launched two additional businesses, one in interior design – Studio Materi – and Immerse, which seamlessly integrates design and architecture with cutting-edge gaming technology. Both services to complement our architectural offer.

Key role requirements include:

  • projects – support the team in the setup and tracking of projects, with particular focus on resourcing and budgets
  • finance – bookkeeping, cash flow forecasting and invoice management
  • director support – PA duties and team management
  • new business – bid preparation and order management for interior design products
  • process development – lead the review and implementation of improved processes and document management. Support the practice to secure ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • general admin – ensuring the day-to-day efficiency of the office is running smoothly, managing filing systems, and office supplies
  • team admin – manage team timesheets/holiday requests

The preferred candidate will:

  • have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role within a small to medium-sized architectural or design studio
  • be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and financial software (e.g. Xero)
  • basic skills in Adobe Acrobat and InDesign (not mandatory)
  • have excellent written and communication skills
  • proven multi-tasker with an eye for detail and highly organised
  • be a team player and able to build strong relationships quickly
  • be flexible, adaptable and have a can-do attitude
  • an interest in architecture and design, a good eye and a talent for visual presentation

Salary £40,000 to £45,000 pa depending on experience. Working hours are flexible – part-time is possible.
