The role

As a senior FF&E designer, you won’t just be working on projects, you will play a key role in our growth strategy and success. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of FF&E designers, leading FF&E design projects from concept to completion and managing very important client relationships. You will work in collaboration with the wider Kibre design team and our clients to understand the vision, requirements and budgets in order to translate these into unique and aspirational designs.

Responsibilities:

  • lead, manage and mentor Kibre’s team of FF&E designers
  • provide guidance and support to the FF&E team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • review and critique design work to ensure it meets the company’s quality standards
  • serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, presenting design concepts and maintaining strong relationships
  • oversee all aspects of the FF&E design process, including budgeting, scheduling, sourcing and procurement
  • develop and present design concepts to clients through sketches, mood boards, renders and 3D visualisations.
  • clearly communicate the design intent and rationale behind decisions
  • prepare and review detailed drawings, specifications and material selections using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • work with the wider design team to create and develop bespoke joinery designs
  • coordinate with architects, contractors and other professionals to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects
  • collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers, continually seek to develop Kibre’s network of suppliers, build and maintain strong working relationships
  • coordinate and communicate with suppliers to ensure that all deliverables are met in terms of specification, cost and logistics
  • oversee the installation of FF&E projects, ensuring seamless project execution every time
  • assist in styling and supporting professional photography when required
  • ensure that Kibre’s FF&E library/sample area is managed and maintained
  • stay current with industry trends, materials and innovations.
  • bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the design process, ensuring that our projects remain cutting-edge and competitive
  • ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations and safety standards

What are we looking for?

  • a confident, loyal, trustworthy, dynamic person who can hold their own with clients, project consultant teams, suppliers and contractors
  • experience managing and mentoring a team of designers
  • an industry recognised diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
  • a minimum of 15 years of experience in FF&E/interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of residential and commercial projects
  • a passion for FF&E, design, art and aesthetics, with good knowledge of suppliers, product and specialist finishes
  • general knowledge of interior architecture, with the ability to read and understand technical drawings, including furniture shop drawings
  • excellent communication and presentation skills
  • proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite
  • strong experience with FF&E scheduling – ideally Estimac
  • strong knowledge of FF&E, materials and finishes
  • ability to manage multiple FF&E design projects
  • eagerness to work collaboratively and creatively
  • ability to demonstrate discretion with sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • competent in MS Office
  • legal right to work in the UK
