Summary of position:

Working closely within the Lanserring design team, in this role you will perform a variety of design and drafting responsibilities, including developing concepts of bespoke kitchens, furniture and products within the luxury prime residential market.

The designer must demonstrate strong creative flair with attention to detail and an innovative mind-set, as well as strong communication skills.

Principal duties and requirements:

  • work closely with the design team and external stakeholders
  • develop design briefs and prepare design presentations
  • create and/or participate in the creation of project documentation
  • receive, sort and file action reports
  • prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specification and related documents
  • assist project design leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, to scope and on budget
  • develop the visual identity of the brand as it evolves through 2D CAD plans, 3D visuals and sketches
  • perform additional design administrative tasks to maintain the smooth running of the business
  • manage and use our internal sampling system and process orders with the production team

Desired skills and expertise:

  • excellent skills in AutoCAD 2D and 3D renderings (SketchUp/Enscape)
  • creativity mixed with a strong attention to detail
  • ability and skill for hand sketching
  • knowledge of engineering and furniture construction principles
  • good knowledge of various material properties (veneers, stone, metal, leather)
  • excellent organisational skills
  • problem solving skills and mind-set
  • ability to work independently
  • ability to work in a team whilst demonstrating superior communication and interpersonal social skills
  • good computer skills, proficient with MS Office applications
  • two to three years’ experience required
