Linda Boronkay Design Studio is expanding its dynamic team with many exciting luxury hospitality and residential projects in the pipeline!
We are currently hiring a senior interior designer to join our team in London.
Role overview
As a senior designer you will be responsible to lead design teams during all phases of the design process from concept generation, to production of FF&E specification and construction documents, to handover. You will establish interior design concepts for new projects, maintain good relationships with our clients and take responsibility for preparing and overseeing the production of high-quality design packages and FF&E schedules for key stakeholders.
You will work directly with the creative director and projects director to set out tasks and deliverables to facilitate each project’s management within the studio. You are also expected to guide and oversee junior team members.

Key responsibilities
Design:
- lead, develop and present inspiring design concepts to clients, considering their preferences and budget constraints using mood boards, producing sketches, drawings and schedules
- evaluating and selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), maintaining quality and LBDS aesthetic standards
- develop and oversee the production of design drawings (bespoke furniture, lighting, joinery, layouts) and schedules
- utilise design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visual representations of design ideas
- work closely with our in-house 3D visualiser to produce renderings for external use
- research technical solutions to detail design challenges
- assess and manage prototype stages of bespoke joinery piece, reviewing shop drawings and working closely with our trusted suppliers and fabricators alongside our Senior Architects/Interior Architectural Designers to ensure compliance with design intent
- keeping abreast of emerging trends, products, and technologies to apply in design projects
Administration and project management:
- run projects during all phases of the design process from concept to handover with the overview of Creative Director or Projects Director, working closely with our Senior Architects/Interior Architectural Designers
- able to set and uphold programmes, adhere to deadlines, excellent project management at all times
- lead coordination efforts with other design disciplines (architects, engineers) and external vendors
- manage sourcing to target budgets and timetable on a daily level for materials, furniture and fixtures
- prepare FF&E budgets and coordinate all aspects of the FF&E procurement and installation
- address any challenges that arise during the design and construction phases
- ensure documents and presentations are filed in accordance to LBDS Standards
- assign own project hours to Harvest on a daily level, and ensuring project teams log their time accordingly
- monitor hours spent on projects and alerts project lead and projects director when additional time is needed
- able to streamline processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency
- liaises with the projects director with regards to management and performance of designers
Studio:
- seek out relevant trade shows and industry events for the studio to attend to ensure there is continued professional development
- acts as a mentor and helps managing the career development of the design team. Inherently act as a positive role-model to others and support the team and company culture
- contribute to setting the internal design standards and guidelines and ensure they are implemented by the team
Project specific:
- lead client, contractor and design team meetings, reviewing and creating meeting minutes alongside our senior architects/interior architectural designers
- monitoring the project progress, ensuring it adheres to the design concept, project budget and programme as well as maintaining quality standards – providing regular updates to the creative director or projects director
- ensures that the integrity of the agreed design solutions are maintained by taking responsibility for the development of the design and the project
- creatively maintain design integrity during value engineering exercise
- work closely with Purchasing Agent to ensure a smooth purchasing process
- closely monitor and manage supplier’s progress to target deadlines and budget
- ensure regular reviews at key design stages with Creative Director
- able to communicate effectively with project team within and outside of the UK
- attend regular site visits at key stages
- attends weekly reviews with Purchasing Agent during procurement phase to monitor progress to report to Creative Director
- lead FF&E install and styling prior to handover
- update Google Keep to do list of their projects on a daily level and create a weekly progress report for review by creative director
Skills and experience required:
- BA or Masters Degree in interior design, furniture design, interior architecture or relevant subjects
- at least eight years post-graduate experience in the luxury residential and or hospitality sector and have seen at least two projects from inception to completion in a project lead capacity
- full proficiency using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative suite, SketchUp/Rhino and Microsoft Office Suite, ability to produce beautiful hand sketching is a bonus. Experience in using Estimac, Fohlio or other similar scheduling programme is required
- strong knowledge of both Interior Architecture and FF&E, with the technical understanding to support working across both sides of the business
- experience working on all aspects of Interior Architecture & FF&E projects through all project stages from concept to completion
- ability to meet internal and external project deadlines and budgets
- excellent supplier and product knowledge of architectural finishes as well as broad knowledge of materiality
- fluent in spoken and written English and able to communicate clearly within the studio and with external consultants and Clients
- adaptable team player who is passionate about design
- an exceptional eye for detail, colours, and extensive knowledge of antiques
