Loci Architecture + Design is looking for a junior architect to join its team in Dubai, UAE.
Loci is an international multi-disciplinary practice operating in the fields of contemporary architecture, urban planning, landscape design, interior design and product design.
The name Loci is plural of the word locus, which by definition means a place; locality; a centre or source; a set of points lines or surfaces that satisfy a given requirement.

Reports to: project architect/design director
Architect with three plus years’ of post-Part 2 experience, involved in all stages of a project from inception to completion.
Core skills/key attributes:
- five-year bachelors or masters degree in architecture/equivalent
- minimum three years’ experience at a good office doing work of comparable quality, either locally or internationally
- having a portfolio of very high-quality projects of similar scale, with experience in the residential/private villa/commercial sectors essential
- experience in project support, design development (concept and schematic design stages) of high-end/good design-level projects
- experience of detail design stage work, preparation of tender/construction documents
- experience of on-site operations preferred
- understanding of client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, technical detailing, consultant coordination, and construction administration
- self-motivated and self-disciplined in an intense collaborative studio environment
- excellent organisational skills, show initiative and have the ability to work independently
- understanding of LOCI’s work and capability to execute its design intentions through various stages to completion
- be a good communicator with excellent written and spoken English
- proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (ArchiCAD/Revit) and Adobe
- creative suite and Sketchup essential, hand drawings and visualisations is an advantage
Role and responsibilities:
- responsible for supporting the development and delivering of project design from inception to completion through multiple design stages
- support the development and coordination of the project design, details, material specifications and technologies/ systems, in line with the project design
- assist the project architect in the coordination and quality, continuity and consistency of project drawings and documentation, from CD to construction stages
- assist the project architect in coordination of all project disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, cost control and interior design) to a high level
- maintain positive and progressive day-to-day communications with the project architect, design director in effective and efficient delivery of work
- ensure project delivery in accordance with LOCI internal design stage and overall project programme
- monitor and maintain project milestones, implementing established studio tools such as project action lists, project program, site reports, etc.
- ensure QA/QC procedures are properly implemented and maintained, including statutory requirements, etc. under the guidance of the PA/DD
- ensure the established and client-approved concept design is rigorously developed and implemented with minimal variations except those agreed by the design director/project architect, as required for coordination of structure/MEP/cost control
