This is an exciting time for London Borough of Bexley; we are at the heart of regeneration and change as London’s growth opportunities move eastwards. The council is planning for unprecedented growth and development, but key corporate and political priorities are to ensure that growth is of high quality design and respects the existing character of the borough as well as aiding in the regeneration and renewal of its most deprived areas.

The placemaking projects team plays an important role with the strategic planning division in ensuring good growth through the development and delivery of regeneration programmes and the production of masterplans and design guides for the borough.

This is a team manager post, heading up a multi-disciplinary team of urban designers and project managers delivering a range of public realm improvement and development projects in the boroughs regeneration areas, formulating design policy and guidance, and facilitating the development of key growth sites. The ideal candidate will have experience of the development of spatial strategies and development proposals and/or developing, bidding for and delivering placemaking projects on the ground. They will also have knowledge and experience of managing staff, work programmes and budgets.
