Mid-weight interior designer
We are seeking a talented and motivated mid-weight interior designer to join our in-house design team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the conceptualisation, development and execution of various design projects across our hotels. You will collaborate closely with senior designers, architects and project managers to bring our distinctive vision to life.
Key responsibilities as mid-weight interior designer:
- you will be responsible for projects from concept to completion
- FF&E specification and design, planning, product drawings, coordinating and managing projects through to installation
- interior finish specification
- understand and work within budgets and time schedules
- recording and collating supporting technical documentation and finish schedules
- overseeing purchasing and logistics
- filing and recording all project documentation and creating specification books
- taking ownership of multiple design projects
- design coordination, getting feedback from the development team and from external agents and specialist consultants for coordinated results
- drawing and detailing custom furniture pieces and project coordination
More about you:
- have a minimum of four years’ relevant experience in architecture and interiors or equivalent
- you’ll have excellent organisational and communication skills and possess great initiative and resourcefulness
- on-site construction experience liaising with suppliers and contractors and ensuring that design-intent and quality is maintained to a maximum level
- formal training in architecture or interior architecture, this is not an FF&E only role
- you must be open to working as a team and taking creative direction, as well as working independently
- you must demonstrate proficiency in in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp and Specification Software
- able to work on projects of varying scales and at times work across multiple projects
- deliver neat, clear and accurate design information and schedules
