We’re seeking a talented draftsperson with experience in draughting for carpentry and metal fabrication to join our team.

About the role 

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality projects in a collaborative environment. As the Technical Draughtsperson, you’ll be the technical design force behind our most ambitious projects, working within our production team to materialise and transform client visions into reality.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Challenges give you energy, and you must be someone who naturally thinks in terms of solutions. You will work closely with the production team, the workshop team and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Requirements:

  • professional experience as a draftsperson, preferably with a focus on carpentry and metal fabrication
  • ability to produce cut files for CNC, plasma/waterjet and laser cutting processes
  • interpret client renders, conceptual designs, and architectural drawings to develop precise technical drawings for carpenters, metal fabricators and machinists
  • site surveys: conduct thorough site surveys to gather accurate measurements and identify potential challenges
  • quality control: review and revise technical drawings to ensure accuracy, adherence to industry standards and compliance with project specifications and regulations
  • proficiency in CAD software, ideally Vectorworks, AutoCAD and Adobe
  • technical knowledge: strong understanding of construction techniques, materials and manufacturing processes to develop practical designs
  • communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients and stakeholders
  • ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • ability to work individually and collaboratively on projects

Responsibilities:

  • to produce clear, detailed and concise drawings for both client approval and workshop production
  • file and store drawings in a methodical format aligned with the company file procedure
  • adaptability: ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities and handle challenges effectively

Salary is competitive and can be negotiated based on experience.
