Make & Place is seeking a sales and marketing manager to become part of its team in London.

Job title: sales and marketing manager, maternity contract
Reporting to: company directors
Hours: 9.30am-6pm, Mon-Fri

The role of the sales and marketing manager is to support the development of a small company in its marketing and wider running. Below is a list of the main responsibilities of the role, expected to be carried out by the marketing manager.

Working across two offices but based in Clerkenwell, you will report to the company directors, Chris Bell, Brian Johnson and Fiona Naylor.

Key tasks:

  • establish and maintain relationships with developers, agents and potential clients
  • create presentation material and marketing collateral to pitch furniture collections to developers and private clients
  • plan, organise and manage photoshoots, styling experience is a bonus
  • manage all marketing across web, print and digital platforms
  • manage all aspects of the sales process from responding to enquiries, preparing quotes and presentations, design assistance, material selection and monitoring customer orders
  • be the point of contact for developers, clients and dealers and develop excellent relationships by email, phone and in-person
  • liaise with the logistics team
  • assist the design team in the development of furniture collections
  • assist with the research and development of our supplier network
  • styling of show apartments
  • prepare floor plans and FF&E schedules, Vectorworks an advantage
  • sourcing, assembling and presenting sample material boards
  • prepare budgets and scope of works
  • procurement is not part of this role, but you will work with the procurement team to ensure the flow of information
  • oversee the installation of projects on site

As the ideal candidate you will:

  • have good knowledge of the design industry, a previous role in the furniture or design industry is an advantage
  • be confident using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, knowledge of Vectorworks is an advantage
  • be flexible, adaptable, proactive and intuitive and have a dynamic approach to your work
  • be mature, enthusiastic and create a great impression on people
  • be the type of person who enjoys a challenge and does whatever it takes to get the job done
  • excellent attention to detail in both the visual and written form
  • a positive, can-do attitude that can balance creative work alongside more admin-based tasks
  • have clear and confident communication skills at all levels of hierarchy across the practice

This is a maternity cover position for 12 months.
