With our first two Studios in Manchester and Glasgow bustling with creative minds, our third is set to open in London late this summer.
As such we are seeking an individual to lead and inspire a team that will play a pivotal role in making Material Source Studio London a global destination, offering a unique experience and an exceptional level of service that our visitors have come to expect from our other locations since 2021.
About the role
The general manager will build and lead a small but efficient Studio team – playing an integral role in hiring for these positions – while liaising with the creative team in Manchester and Glasgow to oversee the day-to-day activity in London.
As our general manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- daily liaison with our world-class partner brands
- inspiring and assisting our member visits (architects, designers and property professionals)
- ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of meeting spaces, the open Hub area, and our theatre
- working closely with our creative team on studio visuals
- management of partner events
- coordination of Material Source Studio events
- utilising technology to bolster the visitor experience
- delivering, alongside the wider Material Source Studio team, a consistent five-star experience for every visitor, every time
Highly desirable
The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the below:
- experience of building and managing highly successful teams – minimum of five years’ experience
- experience and a good understanding of the built environment/commercial interiors sector – minimum of five years’ experience – with knowledge around how excellent account management supports the specification journey
- a solid understanding of delivering the optimum guest experience
- be IT proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and an understanding of how technology supports guest experience
Location/hours/salary
The role of general manager is full-time, and based in-studio in Farringdon, London.
The working hours are – Monday – Thursday, 10am – 6pm, and Friday, 10am – 5pm (plus some evenings/late nights to cover events).
The salary is from £62k (+ benefits).
