Mehrai Design is seeking a talented intermediate interior designer to join our growing team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential projects — from concept through to completion.

Please note: this is a studio-based position. Applicants must be available to work in our SW London studio full-time.

You will have four to six years of experience in interior design, including running projects across all RIBA stages. You are confident leading design processes, producing detailed construction packages, and delivering high-quality work with a sharp eye for detail and craftsmanship.

You will be expected to lead projects at all levels, including:

  • taking full ownership of projects from concept to completion
  • understanding and delivering MD’s design vision and contractual obligations
  • translating client briefs into compelling concept designs
  • producing comprehensive drawing packages (planning, legal, and construction)
  • creating high-quality client presentation boards
  • leading site visits and managing coordination with clients, contractors and consultants
  • ensuring all health and safety documentation is complete
  • keeping design commercially viable and sustainable

Requirements:

  • strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential), SketchUp, Revit
  • proficiency in Photoshop and presentation tools (Google Drive, Microsoft Office)
  • excellent freehand sketching and visual communication
  • deep knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E, joinery and detailing
  • familiarity with furniture, lighting, sanitary ware, and ironmongery suppliers
  • knowledge of UK building regulations, construction methods and sustainability standards
  • passionate about design with a sharp eye for colour, materials and detail
  • organised and self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams
  • strong time management and project leadership skills
  • creative problem-solver with a pragmatic approach
