Mint is seeking a gallery exhibition and sales assistant to join its team in London.
Mint, a leading contemporary design gallery known for its curated selection of avant-garde and collectible design, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented gallery exhibition and sales assistant to join our small but dynamic team. This role blends logistics, sales, and exhibition coordination, offering a unique opportunity to be immersed in the forefront of contemporary design culture.
About the role
You’ll play a key part in the planning, execution, and delivery of two to three exhibitions per year – most notably for London Craft Week and London Design Festival. Alongside exhibitions, your role will involve daily client engagement, sales support, and managing logistics with an international network of designers, clients and suppliers.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about contemporary design attuned to its evolving landscape. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment, and bring a passion for delivering a seamless gallery experience.
Key responsibilities:
- coordinate and oversee the planning, logistics, and installation of gallery exhibitions
- act as liaison for designers, collaborators, and shippers throughout the exhibition cycle
- manage object handling, installation, and packing with care and precision
- maintain and update detailed spreadsheets, dockets, and shipping documentation
- organise and coordinate shipping of works to and from the gallery, including international customs documentation and packaging logistics
- engage with clients – both in-person and online – responding to enquiries and assisting with sales, purchases and aftercare
- represent Mint at design fairs and exhibitions locally and internationally
- assist with ad hoc tasks and day-to-day gallery operations
Essential skills and experience:
- experience in a similar role within a high-end gallery or design retail environment is essential
- strong understanding of international logistics and order fulfilment
- passionate about contemporary design and attuned to its evolving landscape
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
- self-motivated, quick learner, and able to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
- fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; additional European languages are a plus
- proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and Outlook
