We now have an exciting opportunity for an assistant project manager to join our London studio and play a crucial role in supporting our project management team, contributing to the smooth running of projects delivered globally.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • an interest and aptitude for the project management of design consultancy and build projects, with a willingness to learn the principles expected of the core PM disciplines (production of programmes, presentation skills, ability to cost a project, production of progress reports, site-supervision)
  • good written, verbal and presentation skills
  • ability to contribute towards high-quality presentations of portfolio/projects with effective communication skills for delivering to internal or external audiences
  • capacity to work to resourcing, work outputs and programme plans for all projects
  • ability to identify and communicate any opportunities for efficiencies and/or adjustment requirements
  • proactive learning approach to become familiar with internal and industry-wide processes and standards
  • ability to work flexibly, adapting to new ways of working, collaborating and incorporating other disciplines in development of solutions
  • ability to work independently, taking initiative and being proactive
  • excellent time management across multiple projects, prioritising tasks/resourcing where needed to meet outlined deliverables to deadlines
  • ability to respond constructively to feedback
  • an active interest in museums, culture and heritage

Responsibilities:

  • support the project management (PM) team, ensuring that the delivery of project-related project management outputs is timely, well presented and effectively administered, including:
    • procurement of consultancy teams and contractors
    • managing, monitoring and overseeing design activity
    • managing, monitoring and overseeing the construction, fabrication, fit out and handover phases
  • develop PM competencies to work efficiently and effectively to support the delivery of high-quality outputs for clients as cost-effectively as possible
  • deliver specific elements of projects under the direction of the project lead
  • develop technical knowledge of project processes and deliverables
  • work with the internal PM team as required to ensure the smooth running of a project
  • contribute to structuring, creation and delivery of presentations and documents, including preparing project reports, briefs and tender documentation
  • support the internal PM team in the execution of efficient internal and external communication across all members of the project stakeholder group (inc. architects, designers, and the wider consultant teams)
  • provide day-to-day administrative support to the internal PM and design team across communication, reporting, filing, drawing and design outputs
  • record and implement lessons learnt into the continual improvement of the delivery of project services
  • contribute to client or contractor-facing meetings and internal and external workshops and presentations
  • participate in and make positive contributions towards dynamic in-house weekly studio forums for stimulation of creativity, professional development and teambuilding
  • upkeep and adherence to set company processes, standards, time reporting, expenses, leave booking and performance management
