Museum Studio is seeking a marketing and communications manager to join its team in London.

We have an exciting opportunity for a marketing and communications manager based in our London hub.  We’re looking for a versatile team-player with a passion for the cultural sector and creative industries, who can help us grow our reputation, extend our reach, and cultivate new business opportunities by delivering fully integrated marketing and communications across all channels.

About the role

Responsible for the day-to-day management of both digital and offline channels and content, working across a variety of social platforms and websites, developing an online community, providing actionable insights, supporting overall comms initiatives, measuring ROIs and monitoring the medium to long-term strategy. The focus for this role is specifically on UK brands within the Museum Studio ecosystem with an operational input on a global level limited to social and web content activation, and when/if needed on specific occasions.

Working closely with the (global) head of digital marketing and communications, the ideal candidate will be an experienced executive, looking for their next career move.  You will have an ability to work smoothly and independently with the senior management team across our UK brands, as well as new business, content and design departments, and external agencies, with the aim of maximising the brands’ exposure while also ultimately attracting/delivering leads to the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • work with the head of digital marketing and communications to develop and implement effective marketing strategies, in both digital and offline channels
  • assist in managing the marketing budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • assist in the creation and management of content across all physical and digital channels, including UK brand and group websites
  • manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels, including content calendars, content creation, post scheduling and community management; analyse performance metrics, providing actionable insights
  • monitor social media trends, industry news and partner/competitor activities to identify opportunities for engagement and content creation
  • manage the day-to-day relationship with existing external agencies (including PR agency)
  • draft press releases, media kits and other communication and/or marketing materials
  • support our advertising campaigns with industry bodies and throughout the trade press, creating collateral and directly handling media buying as necessary
  • support with B2B relationship management across all parts of our sales pipeline
  • work with team members and stakeholders to plan/manage awards submissions and relevant industry events
  • contribute to the building of a network of relevant contacts that further the objectives of the company
  • represent the business in meetings as necessary
  • support the (global) head of digital marketing and communications in any key and relevant marketing and communications-related activities
  • support our direct marketing activities – including promotional literature and email newsletters

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • excellent team working skills (experience working in collaboration with team members and communicating to various stakeholders), flexible (adapting to new ways of working and thinking) and international mindset
  • ability to work independently, taking initiative, being proactive and balancing multiple priorities
  • strong project management, multitasking and time management skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office and cloud applications and with Adobe Creative Suite
  • experience working in a similar role in a design consultancy, creative agency, architecture practice or cultural institution
  • effective and engaging presentation skills and confidence with a broad range of audiences
  • in-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, trends and best practices
  • proficient in content creation, copywriting and storytelling
  • demonstrable experience supporting digital marketing and PR campaign delivery
  • experience managing social feeds, email databases, web CMS and CRM tools

Nice to have:

  • analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights to drive performance improvements
  • fluency in another European language
