National Gallery of Victoria is looking for a senior designer to join its team in Melbourne, Australia.
Salary: $118,908 gross per annum + 9.5% superannuation
Contract term: full-time, fixed term for three years
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a senior designer who will be responsible for leading the creative direction of design at the NGV, as well as contributing ideas and design strategy towards exhibitions, collection displays, infrastructure projects, events and programs.
About the position
You will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the exhibition design team to lead the creative direction at NGV.
Other key responsibilities include:
- advising on design related matters and supporting major projects such as NGV Contemporary, NGV Triennial and other broader strategic gallery wide projects
- leading the creative design for the presentation of major temporary exhibitions, permanent collection and public displays, external NGV activations, programs and events including retail and hospitality
- leading and managing staff by aligning them with organisational values and goals through effective people management and modelling
- working closely with the manager of exhibition design to contribute to the development and implementation of design policy and philosophy for the NGV
To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified in architecture, industrial or interior design or equivalent qualification. You will also have extensive industry experience in providing leadership in a design environment. You will set and communicate clearly defined priorities while creatively generating new ideas to provide identifiable benefits for Exhibition Design at NGV.
