NC Design & Architecture is hiring an intermediate interior designer to join its team in Hong Kong.
NC Design & Architecture is an interior design studio specializing in bespoke residential and high-end hospitality projects. We are working on a number of bespoke interior projects including a new Mandarin Oriental Hotel at the moment, designing everything from the lobby, the rooms and all the f&b outlets. With a holistic approach, we develop everything from interior design to custom furniture, lighting, and artwork, ensuring a truly unique and immersive experience. We are seeking a talented intermediate designer with two to five years’ experience to join our Hong Kong studio. The role entails a wide range of activities, including finding mood images, creating 3D renderings (using both Rhino and SketchUp) and developing bespoke design details.
As the intermediate designer, you will be responsible for developing the design concept and managing the day-to-day delivery of projects. You will work closely with junior designers, draftsman and the director to ensure the successful development of the design.
The ideal candidate should have experience in all aspects of design and project management, from residential developments to high-end hospitality projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with client representatives and other project team consultants.
Responsibilities:
- develop the creative vision for projects in collaboration with the design management team
- lead design research and concept development, including finding mood images and gathering information about specific sites
- establish the materiality for projects through thorough material research and ensure samples are available for review
- research and engage new suppliers and manufacturers, keeping the team updated on new materials, lighting, ironmongery, and sanitary ware products
- ensure adherence to NCDA’s design standards during concept and development phases, as well as overall FF&E project costs
- manage projects from concept to completion, following design timelines and deliverables
Experience:
- two to five years’ experience in hospitality or residential design, with a track record of running jobs in high-end residential, hotels or restaurants
