Mid-weight interior designer

Nebihe Cihan Studio is seeking a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

From a turnkey interior design service to art direction, the studio’s diverse offering considers every single component needed to bring a vision to life.
This role will take responsibility for assisting the project’s development throughout each design phase, from concept to completion during its partnership with the studio.
Please note that this is not a remote position, the candidate is expected to work from the company’s Chelsea studio.
Main tasks and responsibilities include the following:
- producing furniture layouts based on the client’s needs and brief
- working with wider team in the spatial planning and concept design of each project
- producing design drawings using AutoCAD
- reviewing and approving shop drawings
- designing custom furniture and producing detailed furniture drawings for pricing
- designing and sourcing FF&E from concept through to finished details
- pricing FF&E items and reviewing cost proposals
- producing FF&E schedules
- managing FF&E budgets
- liaising with the design and purchasing team to ensure all FF&E is in line with the client’s expectations and budget
- responsible for value engineering designs when required
- reviewing construction budgets and bids
- communicating closely with external consultants, contractors, lighting designers and local architects
- attending client and site meetings when required
Qualifications:
- must have proven experience in project management (budgeting and scheduling)
- must have in-depth knowledge of materials, furniture and suppliers
- must be a team player and a self-starter
- must have great problem-solving skills
- must have ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- must have the ability to differentiate the needs of different styles and looks based on project briefs and to deliver those styles
- must have strong communication skills – excellent written and spoken English
Requirements:
- must have an undergraduate degree in interior design or interior architecture
- must have a minimum of five years’ experience in high-end residential interiors in the UK
- must have the legal right to work in the UK immediately
- must have a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe InDesign, knowledge of any 3D rendering software is a plus
- must have knowledge in Studio Designer or similar FF&E scheduling software
