Panasonic Design London | FLUX is seeking a mid-weight UX designer to join its team in London.

Panasonic Design London | FLUX is a unique component of the Panasonic Design’s creative team, combining the collective power of insight, strategy, creation and storytelling.

Focused on a core of diverse expertise, experiences and thinking, the London team works closely with Panasonic’s Design headquarter in Kyoto, Japan to identify new and innovative opportunities for Panasonic to develop in the future, with the ambition of creating new user experiences which betters the future for both humanity and the planet.

We are seeking a mid-weight UX designer with a curious mind and diverse skillset to join our creative design team.

To be successful in this position, you should be passionate about the role and use your creative skillset and experience to make positive change. You will have in-depth knowledge and proven experience of the design process.

Role overview

Salary: £35 000 to £45 000 (experience dependent) plus benefits
Contract type: permanent
Hours: 37.5 full-time
Location: London, UK
Start date: January 2024

As a UX designer you will actively contribute to various key projects for Panasonic Design London.

The role will be responsible for three main areas: insight research to identify potential needs, building business opportunity hypotheses and producing and visualising future user experiences. Together with the director and creative lead, the successful applicant will lead and manage multiple projects per year.

As part of our team, you will:

  • act as UX designer within the London team and alongside the headquarter in Japan
  • support a series of insight research, eg. desktop research, user/expert interviews, field research in many regions/countries, exhibition visits etc, working together with the target audiences and external experts in target countries
  • derive and propose the direction(s) of projects, based on the target customers, understand potential needs and validation of ideas as demonstrated through the research
  • produce and visualise ideas obtained through the project in an intuitive manner and communicate both internally and externally, including presentations, reports, events, etc
  • travel to Japan at least once a year to communicate in person with headquarter members
  • actively participate in various design seminars and events to gather useful primary information for the project, network with experts and raise the profile of Panasonic Design
  • travel within Europe and internationally as required
  • be prepared to work five days a week in our London Studio but we will accommodate personal circumstances when needed
  • have proven experience in software, such as Rhino, Keyshot, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft/Apple OS
