Patalab is seeking an architect to join its team in London.

The role

Patalab is recruiting a Part 3 architect with strong experience in the residential and refurbishment sector. You will be the day-to-day project lead and are expected to take responsibility for the design development, design team coordination, and effective internal and external communication. Our clients include private individuals, public organisations, charities and developers looking for high quality bespoke design solutions.

Contract type: permanent and full-time

Salary: commensurate w/ experience and responsibilities

Location: Clerkenwell, central London

Start date: as soon as possible

The studio

Patalab was established in 2008 and has gained a reputation for its high quality design of contemporary spaces for a wide range of private, public and corporate clients in the UK, and across Europe. We enjoy transforming existing buildings for new uses as well as delivering innovative and site-specific new build projects. Our design approach aims at the delivery of sensitive but powerful designs that compliment their context. The studio’s completed work includes a number of acclaimed award-winning schemes: Heath House and Cascade House in Hampstead; The Gables in Primrose Hill; and Marconi House in central London.

Experience and skills:

  • solid experience in residential and refurbishments projects
  • excellent design skills
  • good understanding of UK planning system, building regulations and construction processes
  • experience of project involvement from inception to completion (all RIBA work stages)
  • commercial awareness in project delivery
  • ability to work within a team as well as working independently, coordinate and manage others
  • highly organised to be able to work efficiently on several projects simultaneously
  • high proficiency in CAD software (Microstation beneficial)
  • fluent in written and spoken English
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through drawings and models
