Patricia Urquiola is hiring a project and operations manager to join its team in Milan.
Studio Urquiola, a global leader in architecture and interior design, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated sroject and operations manager to join our leadership team.
This key role will be instrumental in optimising workflows, enhancing team coordination, and driving innovation through AI and digital tools in a multidisciplinary studio, directly coordinating architects, designers, renderers, alongside our head of the architecture and interior design department.
Your impact
You will collaborate to ensure that Studio Urquiola’s projects are delivered with excellence, efficiency and innovation by guiding process improvements, resource allocation, and digital transformation.
This role requires a unique mix of architectural knowledge, project management expertise, and technological proficiency to optimize how we design, collaborate and deliver world-class projects.
Key responsibilities
Project and team coordination:
- collaborate with studio directors and the architecture head to ensure alignment with strategic goals and project compliance
- manage resource allocation, balancing team efforts across multiple high-profile projects
- oversee workload distribution, time management, and project deadlines to enhance efficiency and quality
- optimise project execution by integrating AI, project management software, and digital tools to streamline workflows
- support business development by analyzing new architectural opportunities and conducting strategic research
Process and workflow optimisation:
- implement best practices in BIM, AI-powered project tracking, and digital workflow automation to improve design quality and efficiency
- enhance communication and collaboration across architects, renderists, and designers
- define and implement new studio standards, methodologies, and performance metrics
- identify process bottlenecks and propose data-driven solutions for better profitability
Contract and financial oversight:
- ensure project scopes are aligned with contractual obligations, identifying potential additional services in coordination with the financial team
- track project budgets and resource efficiency to maximise profitability and operational excellence
Who you are:
- architect, engineer or management engineer
- a highly organised and strategic leader, passionate about innovation in architecture, design and technology
- a problem-solver and decision-maker with strong analytical skills and a results-oriented mindset
- a communicator and facilitator, able to bridge creative and operational needs within a fast- paced, international studio
Minimum qualifications:
- five plus years’ of experience in architecture, engineering, or management engineering
- proven expertise in project and operations management within architecture, design, or related fields
- strong knowledge of AI-driven project management tools, BIM, and digital design workflows
- international experience, working in fast-paced, mulÆŸdisciplinary environments
- fluent in English and Italian (both verbal and written)
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Office Suite, InDesign and industry-standard project management software
