Paul Cocksedge Studio is seeking a studio manager to join its Hackney-based studio in London.

Position: part-time, 16 to 20 hours per week (two days a week)

Paul Cocksedge Studio is an internationally acclaimed design practice notable for the design of high-end products, site-specific installations, and public interventions. At the heart of our work is the exploration of the limits of technology to create unique and surprising design experiences.

We undertake arts and design commissions and consultancy work for a wide range of companies and sectors, with a diverse catalogue of high-profile clients encompassing luxury fashion labels, exclusive interiors manufacturers and major cultural institutions.

We are now seeking candidates for the position of studio manager for our London studio, supporting the growth of the studio at an exciting time.

The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and organisation of the Studio as well as accounts and finance management, and providing general assistance to the Studio Directors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • the smooth day-to-day running of the studio
  • carrying out general administration
  • call reception and general email enquiries
  • management of press enquiries and studio website
  • database management
  • monthly book-keeping and receipt reconciling
  • invoicing & financial administration
  • human resources

Requirements

The position requires candidates with several years experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy studio context. It would particularly suit someone in the early stages of their career, with prior experience in the art and design industry.

You are likely to be highly organised and you will be comfortable problem solving and decision-making. The ability to cope with pressure is a must.

You will be happy to work in a team environment and have a can-do attitude. You will equally have the confidence to work using your own initiative.

Organisational skills and computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office, Xero, Google platforms.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ideally you will have previous experience working in client facing roles. Fluency in written and spoken English is a prerequisite – other languages are beneficial.

Salary will be dependent on experience and skills level. Applicants must currently be living in the UK with a valid working visa.
