Zaha Hadid Architect is seeking a talented and experienced advisor to join its people and talent team on a permanent contract in London.
The purpose of the role will be to provide HR advice and administrative support to the relevant client group of the practice, as well as to line manage and mentor the P&T coordinator. You will work with a supportive and friendly team of seven people and talent professionals, supporting change during an exciting time for the business, including the transition to a new HRIS.
Areas of responsibility
Talent acquisition:
- effectively managing recruitment (coaching hiring managers on best practices, managing the interviewing process with the support of the P&T Coordinators, building relationships with recruitment agencies, etc.)
Immigration and international P&T transfers:
- coordinate and manage Visa application – new sponsorship applications and extensions
- interfacing with immigration law solicitors to manage the process effectively and facilitate legal compliance
- advice managers and employees on requirements, process and timelines
- managing internal talent transfers, secondments and relocations
Payroll:
- managing the monthly payroll for the relevant business unit, together with the coordinator by adding all changes, documents, and updates; overseeing the process and interfacing with accounts
Talent management/employee relations:
- able to advise colleagues and leaders within the practice on most HR policies as per our Employee Handbook, including but not limited to flexible working requests, various types of leave, performance management, TOIL, etc.
- able to own and drive HR procedures from start to finish (e.g., probation periods, maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave, and flexible working requests, long-term absence management, etc.).
- advise and manage employee relations cases, PIPs, probation extensions, contract terminations, etc.
HR operations:
- ensure all P&T Administration processes are completed correctly and on time for the relevant business units
- picking up relevant queries from the P&T inbox
- absence reporting and management
- offering staff advice on benefit provisions and acting as the primary liaison with external benefits providers
- analysing employee data to offer business insights and recommendations
- supporting projects including HRIS improvement, pay review, promotions and appraisals
- general administration duties as required
- leading exit interviews and following up from feedback as required
- adhoc reporting (e.g. AJ100, ONS)
Line management:
- line managing and mentoring of the people and talent coordinator
- advising P&T coordinators on best practices
- overseeing the generic people and talent inbox with the people and talent coordinator
- ensuring all administrative responsibilities for the business unit are completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner
Project work:
- assisting the P&T management team with policy review and creation
- manage and support projects across the team
Skills and knowledge:
- up to date, practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies (international also desirable)
- solid administrative skills with a keen eye for detail and numeracy
- ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and new challenges
- good working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
- intermediate/advanced MS Office skills
- proven ability to overcome problems with a positive attitude and integrity
- good organisational skills, able to manage multiple changing requests and priorities
Education and experience:
- previous experience in a HR generalist role within architecture or a similar sector within the creative industry is helpful
- previous supervisory or line management experience
- achieved/studying towards CIPD level five qualification or equivalent (helpful but not required)
