Intermediate architect

Perkins&Will is currently recruiting an intermediate architect with three to five years’ experience to join its studio in London.
We are an award-winning international design firm and industry leader in commitment to sustainable design. Our London office is established as one of the most successful design firms in the UK and Europe, delivering a wide range of professional design services including corporate interiors, strategic workplace consultancy services, new build architecture, large-scale urban design and planning development and hospitality.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
- uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution and living design
- develops confidence and knowledge in all aspects of the design process, while displaying increasing levels of independence
- assists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team
- generates drawings, calculations and prepares and reviews documentation including schedules, minutes, notes and reports under supervision for all project stages
- exercises critical and creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials
- completes tasks and responsibilities on projects including scheduling and budgeting in an organized, timely and consistent way
- self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility and for document compliance in accordance with the project delivery manual
- expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large
- takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities
- participates in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups
- keeps open communication within team and with the designated team leader
- communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others
- coordinates effectively with partners and consultants
- incorporates integrated regenerative design solutions into projects to meet targets
- represents the practice and raise its profile in a positive manner
General skills required (but not limited to):
- BIM
- building codes, legislation and standards
- site analysis
- preliminary design studies
- contract documents
- field measurements
- life safety requirements
- specifications
- construction administration
Software:
- functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
- intermediate Revit
- conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
- Microsoft Office/Adobe Suite
- visualisation tools such as Enscape and VRay
- physical modeling tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting
- presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
- environmental analysis software such as Ladybug and Climate Studio
Licensure/certifications/education:
- professional degree in architecture
- LEED GA within six months of hire
- professional accreditation in one area of living design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House or RELi AP
- continuing professional development per professional registrations
