Plan A Consultants is looking for a head of BD/marketing in London.

We are a specialist design management consultancy based in London. We provide design management services to support and guide many of the world’s best architects and designers through the design stages of a project. These include Bjarke Ingels Group, David Chipperfield Architects, Snøhetta and RSHP.

Summary

The Plan A Team is growing and we are looking for an experienced and proactive Head of BD/marketing to lead on all BD and marketing activities.

This is a top-to-bottom role where you will support the directors in defining the BD and marketing strategy. You will lead on wider strategic initiatives, drive growth, identify new markets and opportunities, foster existing and new client relationships and elevate our presence.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • lead on all marketing activities and support directors on BD activities
  • lead wider marketing/BD strategic initiatives within Plan A
  • define the marketing strategy annually and implement it
  • set marketing/BD budget annually
  • be part of the senior leadership team and attend directors’ meetings
  • develop a robust understanding of how Plan A supports architects and designers with specialist design management and be able to communicate confidently to external parties
  • achieve objectives and business KPIs related to BD/marketing
  • identify new markets/opportunities/trends/potential clients to reflect our strengths and objective
  • build relationships with all key client contacts (primary relationship holder will be via director/associate director) and prospective new clients
  • oversee a calendar of events, and attend where appropriate, to support our objectives and be a key attendee with others
  • manage and oversee the outputs of the marketing/BD manager
  • manage the bid process for all opportunities, ensure bids are of consistent quality and coordinate input from others to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • support in the preparation of fee/scope proposals
  • oversee a database of current and upcoming competitions/opportunities and utilise the data so that the creation of opportunities is optimised and increased
  • identify and track bid and win data and analyse the results to provide competitive advantage and identify trends
  • lead development of our industry sector approach so that objectives and knowledge sharing are identified, tracked and up to date resulting in the creation of opportunities for Plan A

About you

We are looking for professionals who possess an understanding of the architecture and design industry; a working background in architecture and/or the built environment is ideal. The ability to think ‘big’, think ahead and think creatively/strategically will be essential in this role.
