Porter Bathroom is hiring a product design engineer to join its team.
At Porter, we specialise in design-led bathrooms for high-end residential and commercial projects across the UK, Europe and the US. Our expertise includes designing and manufacturing bathroom vanities, baths, mirror cabinets, brassware, lighting, and accessories. We take pride in being a close-knit team dedicated to creating beautiful bathrooms from start to finish. Our design language is craft-led, shaping timeless pieces.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced product design engineer, who will work closely with the director/design team on an exciting mix of product development and interior works. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and growing company in the high-end residential sector.
Key requirements:
- have an excellent knowledge of developing design and technical workshop production drawings and detailed product specifications
- have an excellent understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques with experience in design to manufacture processes
- developing product collections from design and prototyping through to production and assembly
- have excellent spatial awareness to put forward well balanced design and technical solutions for products with impeccable attention to detail
- creation of material cut lists and or component(s) for workshop production and assembly
- managing and maintaining CAD drawings and technical documentation
About you:
- we are welcoming applicants with a minimum five plus years’ industry experience
- proficient in professional CAD packages for design and production, e.g. Solidworks
- ability to use Adobe creative suite for presentation purposes
- ability to create high quality 3D models
- ability to create concept renderings for reviews
- ability to translate design briefs into realistic design solutions
- a resourceful, optimistic nature with great care and attention who enjoys a challenge, open to all aspects of projects with a hands-on attitude
