Reed Harris is hiring a Business development manager to join its team in London.
Reed Harris is looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing sales professional to manage their King’s Road showroom. You will have experience working for an interiors company where you have been developing sales and building relationships with residential customers, interior designers and architects.
Based in the heart of the Chelsea design quarter, our showroom is an inspirational and colourful space for our clients to select products from the carefully curated collection of the latest porcelain, ceramic and mosaic tiles.

Working alongside the managing director, you will be responsible for proactively developing relationships with key residential customers, interior designers and architects in order to maximise sales and margins through new and existing clients.
Responsibilities:
- manage, motivate and lead one member of staff and work as a team together to ensure the efficient running of the showroom and its sales function
- respond promptly and professionally to incoming leads, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless sales process
- develop and maintain relationships and proactively promote the company’s products to designers, residential architects, retail clients, tiling contractors through client visits, showroom consultations and networking events
- build and maintain relationships with our existing and new suppliers
- ensure that the showroom is maintained and updated with the latest products and work with the design consultant to make certain that all the displays reflect the latest trends in colour and design
- monitor competitor activity and industry trends
- devise and implement annual departmental plan and sales targets in conjunction with the managing director
- monitor monthly sales as set against the sales target and advise the MD of successes and shortfalls
- provide design and colour advice and technical support to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of our products and their value
- represent the company at the Chelsea design quarter meetings and provide feedback to the managing director
- promote the company at selected exhibitions
- create and implement strategies to develop new business opportunities on an ongoing basis, including the hosting of showroom functions for design practices
- manage prospects database updated with project information on an ongoing basis and ensure all projects are followed up regularly with designers, contractors and end users where appropriate
- work with the managing director to promote a consistent management standard and culture across all areas of the business
Ideal candidate:
- proven experience in sales within the interiors marketplace
- existing connections within the interior design and architectural community an advantage
- exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture client relationships
- highly motivated and self-driven with a passion for interior design and architecture
- willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, to attend networking events and meet client needs as the need arise
- demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and maximise sales opportunities
- professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence
- friendly can do approach
- empathetic and outgoing personality
