Resonant Architecture is seeking a part-time Part 2 architectural assistant/Part 3 architect to join its team in Oxford, UK.

Resonant Architecture is searching for a talented Part 2 architectural assistant with a minimum of one year post- Part 2 experience of working in the UK, or a junior level qualified architect to work on a growing portfolio of exciting projects.

The role will be on-site at our offices on Cowley Road, Oxford, three days per week initially.

Resonant Architecture is a growing practice founded in 2020 by Tom Dawson. Current projects range from residential alterations and extensions at all scales through new build houses to arts and commercial projects. All projects are design-led and seek to enhance their social and environmental contexts. The majority of our projects are currently in and around the counties of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, although past projects have been located in Cambridgeshire, London and the Scottish Highlands.

Key responsibilities:

• taking the lead on one or more projects
• developing the brief in collaboration with the practice director
• managing the design process
• liaising with other designers, council officials, contractors and clients
• producing and issuing design information at all RIBA stages
• contributing to general office management, such as answering telephones, greeting visitors

Person specification

Experience:

• at least one year post RIBA Part 2 UK experience working as an architectural assistant or architect, ideally on smaller, traditionally run projects
• experience of direct communication with clients
• familiarity with relevant legislation and statutory requirements such as the Building Regulations

Skills:

• RIBA Parts 1 and 2 (minimum)
• proficient in English grammar, spelling and proof reading
• proficiency in Archicad or Revit
• proficiency in graphical layout, such as using Adobe Indesign or Affinity Publisher
• proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
• reliability
• good team player

• good time management
• cheerful and enthusiastic
