The RIBA is looking for a programme manager to manage and deliver its Future Place initiative in London.
Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.
The RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.
Salary: £34,816 – £43,500 depending on experience
Hours: full-time, 35 hours per week. 12-month fixed-term contract until 31 December 2020
The RIBA is looking for an experienced built environment professional to manage and deliver its Future Place initiative, delivered in partnership with government agencies and professional bodies, to promote collaborative high quality place-making.
As Future Place programme manager you will be responsible for managing project budgets and programmes, monitoring progress, and resolving issues to ensure objectives are met. You will develop and manage relationships with key national partner bodies, as well as engaging local authorities and stakeholders in the regions to ensure that the expert advice and capacity building programmes are delivered collaboratively.
One of your key responsibilities will be to identify and analyse the needs of the selected Future Places to develop briefs for strategic placemaking advice, as well as managing open calls for submissions from RIBA chartered practices. As Future Place programme lead, you will manage and deliver events and meetings, representing the RIBA with senior stakeholders, at external conferences and in media interviews. You will monitor and evaluate the programme, and share lessons learned through a range of media – including written reports, digital content and film – to engage and inform the public, construction industry, government bodies, and practitioners.
You will have considerable experience of applying and communicating your expertise in driving quality in the built environment. With a strong track-record of delivering complex programmes on time, to budget, and to meet project objectives, you will have excellent planning and prioritisation skills, and experience of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
You will have experience of representing an organisation on design quality matters at the highest level, and of working with multiple and complex external partners and stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with a demonstrable ability to produce high-quality material for different audiences (public, policy, built environment professionals), including learning and best practice resources. Experience of running competitive processes and making funding applications is desirable.
This role offers a great opportunity to support the RIBA’s work to promote quality in design and place-making through effective collaboration between local planning authorities, government agencies, professionals and communities.
