Rider Stirland Architects is hiring an architect to join its team in London.

Rider Stirland Architects are a boutique practice specialising in residential architecture and interiors. We believe that good home design can make a significant difference to our quality and enjoyment of life – increasing happiness, wellbeing and pleasure.

We are looking for an enthusiastic residential architect that shares these values to join our team in southeast London. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the founding directors and develop a position of responsibility running fast moving residential projects. Our aim is to create architecture that is responsive to its context and designs which are joyful to experience – with considered interior design. Technical skills and attention to detail are critical to help ensure the highest standards in our projects and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• lead projects through all RIBA job stages
• create exceptional design proposals and communicate effectively
• engage directly with clients and consultants
• collaborate with our friendly team
• support the directors to achieve business goals

Requirements:

• ARB registration, with a minimum of two years post-qualification professional experience
• passion for residential projects, including interior design
• job running experience on UK renovation/extension projects through all stages
• exemplary design and technical detailing skills
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• working knowledge of RIBA and JCT building contracts
• working knowledge of UK planning procedure, UK Building Regulations and CDM requirements; particularly with domestic projects
• proficiency in Vectorworks, Adobe CS, MS Office, SketchUp
• self-motivation to learn, contribute and take initiative
• ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines under time pressure
