Rose Uniacke Studio has a vacancy for a fabric sales associate to join its team in London.

Rose Uniacke Studio was set up ten years ago on Pimlico Road, among some of London’s most respected antique and twentieth-century furniture dealers and designers. RU Fabric launched its first range in September 2017. Originally conceived to serve her interior design and antique business, Rose was persuaded to make some of her favourite fabrics more widely available; working closely with mills, traders, and artisans, to produce beautiful practical cloth of the finest calibre. RU Fabrics is a rapidly expanding department with over 260 fabrics currently in its beautifully curated collection. RU Fabric shop will be opening its own flagship store at 103 Pimlico Road in the first quarter of 2021.

The department is seeking a passionate, enterprising, full-time fabric sales associate (Tuesday – Saturday), to be based in the fabric showroom.

Duties include

You will support and drive overall department sales growth through both end-consumer and trade sales channels by assisting customers in the specification and purchase of fabrics from the Rose Uniacke fabric collection.

You will be responsible for managing both new and existing customer accounts, assisting with all enquiries, generating quotations, providing specification assistance, managing stock reservations, processing orders and general account management.

You will have the ability to build excellent rapport when meeting new people and have the skills to develop and build successful relationships with both end customers and trade clients. You will enjoy seeking new business opportunities and have the skills to successfully convert these opportunities into repeat business.

Passionate about quality, and sustainable design, you will enjoy developing customer relationships and seeing through conversion from point of enquiry all the way to order fulfilment whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • secure weekly face-to-face meetings with a targeted prospect list of end customers and interior designers
  • represent Rose Uniacke at industry events and networking opportunities
  • maintain a comprehensive database of sales, leads, and opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up to secure orders
  • build a comprehensive pipeline of sales opportunities, working towards both monthly and annual sales targets
  • assist and support all showroom visitors, demonstrating excellent product and sales knowledge
  • respond to and process all applicable sales enquiries and order requests
  • work with all channels to ensure that each order is appropriately facilitated accurately and efficiently, with excellent customer service and communication
  • maintain our customer database, ensuring it is up to date and accurate
  • actively manage the Pimlico road showroom ensuring that presentation standards are upheld
  • support in the management of stock levels and distribution of samples

Ideal candidate:

  • proven sales experience, preferably within the luxury textile market.
  • demonstrable knowledge of the interior design and hospitality market in the UK and Europe and how to navigate it effectively
  • a good eye for detail and design and a passion for interior design and the role of fabrics within it
  • a creative aptitude to recommend, suggest and help imagine how the RUFabric collection can meet our customer’s needs
  • a sound understanding of material certification requirements for interior design and the hospitality market
  • excellent and efficient customer service that is reflective of Rose Uniacke’s values
  • ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated and proactive, and hungry to win business
  • highly organised and able to work under pressure, prioritise and complete tasks
  • ability to think laterally and work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other staff members and third-party organisations
  • aptitude for building customer relationships and enjoyment in being customer focused
