Rose Uniacke Interior Design is looking for a junior designer to join its team in London, UK.

Rose Uniacke is a designer and gallerist who runs a wide and growing portfolio of projects, both at home and internationally, working on everything from restoration and remodelling to new builds. The
brand has three Pimlico Road shops – the editions shop, selling furniture both antique and modern, a fabric and paint shop and a shop full of beautiful belongings, household objects, and luxury gifts. Alongside the design practice, and of enormous importance to Rose, is the brand’s highly respected arm of antique furniture and objects.

Role overview

The interior design team is currently seeking a motivated Junior Designer. This role offers valuable experience and opportunities for growth in the design industry. As a Junior Designer, you will play a key role in supporting the team by assisting with concept design projects, managing administrative tasks, and developing design ideas into visual presentations. Your contributions will be essential in bringing our design visions to life. By working closely with the department on various projects, you will gain practical skills and insights, paving the way for a successful career in design.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Location: Radnor Studio, 13 Radnor Walk, London, SW3 4BP

Experience

Minimum 3 years in interior/architectural design

Key responsibilities

The role involves working with all members of the RU Design team and helping wherever resources are needed. Primarily supporting the senior team members in the creation of presentations, developing designs and producing technical specifications, including duties listed below (but not
limited to):

  •  support Rose and the senior designers in the delivery of successful design projects
  • assist in concept development
  • 3D modelling of spaces
  • drawing package – plans, elevations, and detail drawings when needed
  • schedules
  • FFE sourcing, including preparing tear sheets
  • purchasing and invoicing for the project on Estimac
  • liaise with all contractors and attend site meetings, as required
  • develop and maintain good knowledge of suppliers

Skills required

  • experience in residential and/or commercial projects
  • international travel when required
  • ability to work under pressure and meet to deadlines– this is a key aspect to the role as the studio is a fast-pace and high-pressure environment
  • excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • be organised, detail-oriented and proactive
  • good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • strong design sensibility, good sense of composition and understanding of the RU aesthetic
  • able to work collaboratively
  • mac user

Qualifications required

  • relevant academic skills
  • experience in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop required.  Estimac and rendering experience a bonus.
