Role overview
The fabric department is looking for a passionate and proactive full-time fabric sales assistant to support our showroom. This role plays a key part in both operations – managing the production and logistics of our fabric and paint sampling service—and sales, with a focus on growing our paint and accessories offering. Based at Rose Uniacke’s Fabric Showroom at 103 Pimlico Road, this position offers excellent growth opportunities, providing an ambitious junior employee with valuable insight into our products and company operations while fostering strong relationships with both end customers and trade clients.
Contract type: permanent
Hours: full-time, Tuesday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Location: 103 Pimlico Road, London, SW1W 8PH
Experience: two years’ of experience.
Key responsibilities:
- assist and support all shop visitors, demonstrating excellent product and sales knowledge, with a primary focus on 103 Accessories and RU Paint
- build and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities, working towards both monthly and annual sales targets
- respond to and process all relevant sales enquiries and order requests
- work across all relevant channels (Fabric, Shop, and Paint) to ensure each order is facilitated accurately and efficiently, delivering excellent customer service and communication
- manage the processing and fulfilment of all online orders
Showroom support:
- maintain the presentation of the fabric shop, ensuring it is kept clear and on-brand (e.g. steaming display fabrics, folding drapes, general tidying)
- assist with telephone enquiries, including price checks, stock checks, and technical information, while updating customer information on the company database
- fulfil all press loan requests for the PR and marketing department
- support the management of stock levels for all sampling
- liaise with the paint purchasing manager to ensure sufficient availability of paint tester pots and relevant sales materials in the shop
Skills required:
- a keen interest in interiors
- understanding of the fabric market and production processes and/or experience in customer service or retail (desirable)
- a polite, friendly manner with a can-do attitude
- highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- a creative aptitude to recommend, suggest, and help customers envision how RU Fabric and RU Paint can meet their needs
- ability to work autonomously, demonstrating self-motivation and proactivity
- srong collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and third-party organisations
