Senior interior designer

Sophie Paterson Interiors is looking for a skilled senior interior designer to work on residential projects both in Elmbridge, UK and abroad.

You will be working alongside the rest of the design team reporting directly to the lead interior designers and design director working on a number of small to large-scale residential projects. You will be in charge of producing space plans and concept designs, design development and technical detailing packages, tender packages as well as bespoke furniture designs and joinery details. You will work closely with the lead interior designers and coordinate works on-site and liaise with clients.


  • detailing interior layouts
  • producing technical drawings and tender packages
  • creating design presentation documents
  • the managing of and delivery of jobs on time, to the highest of standards from conception to completion
  • designing joinery, bespoke furniture, lighting and fixed finishes
  • lead site meetings and be representative of client and company

Skills and qualifications:

  • a minimum of five years’ professional experience within the interior design sector in London and Surrey
  • good grasp of interior architectural design
  • excellent presentation, conceptual and visualising skills
  • extremely competent producer of detailed drawings, specifications and schedules
  • excellent time management and organisational skills
  • proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft office
  • on-site experience
  • experienced user of EstiMac
  • fluent in written and spoken English
  • strong client communication skills
  • have a passion and interest in the trends of design
  • have a thorough understanding and knowledge of materials, furniture, finishes and lighting design
  • have strong FF&E selection and sourcing skills with the ability to put together comprehensive project packages
  • areal team-player who is passionate about design, detail and quality
  • experience working on high-end residential projects within the UK involved in concept design, design development and on-site coordination
  • the ideal candidate will be someone that enjoys working in a relaxed, friendly and team-orientated environment but at the same time, is passionate about their work and is able to work on their own initiative when required
  • applicant must also hold a full UK driving license
