Junior interior designer
at Spa Strategy
Spa Strategy is seeking a junior interior designer to join its team in Warwickshire, UK.
The position is remote working, however, proximity to Warwick is preferred for ad hoc meetings.
Spa Strategy is a consultancy that specialises in spa and wellness in hospitality. We work from a strategic starting point across feasibility, concept, and technical design of projects with varying scales and budgets. Our work is global.
The successful candidate will be creative and passionate about hospitality, wellness and design. They will work with the project lead consultant and the project design partners to guide the technical design of the spa and other wellness spaces. A willingness to grow, learn and develop will be key for this role.
Candidates should have degree-level qualifications in design, with two+ years’ experience working on hospitality projects. The successful candidate must be able to manage a varying workload across multiple projects to meet client deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
- create mood boards and 2D design presentations
- assist with the development of concepts – contribute to the development of creative design ideas and presentations using Adobe Creative Suite
- technical drawing support – help create conceptual and detailed drawings, including joinery using AutoCAD
- manage a varying workload across various clients to meet deadlines
- equipment, material and furniture research – assist in sourcing and specifying equipment, reviewing furniture, and material schedules
- work closely with the lead consultant
- project coordination – support the lead consultant in liaising with architects, interior designers, contractors and suppliers
- site visits – attend project sites to observe progress and ensure design consistency
- administrative support – help with project documentation.
Skills and experience:
- a degree in interior design or interior architecture
- two plus years’ experience working on hospitality projects
- proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and SketchUp
- good conceptual abilities and freehand drawing skills
- self-management and proactive thinking
