Position overview
As a project director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic goals of the business by leading complex architectural projects from concept through to completion. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients, contractors and consultants while maintaining the design integrity, budget and overall project quality.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire teams, make critical decisions and ensure successful project delivery across all stages.
Key responsibilities:
- lead the full architectural process, including design, project and contract management, ensuring quality supervision and client satisfaction
- analyse project briefs, develop creative solutions and manage design concepts within budget, site and programme constraints
- prepare contractual documents without supervision, overseeing a team to ensure deliverables are on time and of high quality
- anticipate project resource needs and contractual changes, addressing these with senior leadership as necessary
- inspire and lead both internal and external teams, fostering creativity and excellence in project outcomes
- ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including health and safety, building regulations and professional codes of conduct
- maintain design integrity of the design concept throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring consistency in the team’s work
- build and sustain strong client relationships while coordinating with clients, other consultants, contractors and suppliers
- meet client budget expectations and ensure Fuksas’ fee limitations are adhered to on all projects
- take responsibility for financial and legal aspects of projects, mitigating risks and ensuring project profitability
- lead new business initiatives by preparing proposals, demonstrating commercial awareness and recognising marketing and PR opportunities for ongoing growth
- present complex design concepts to clients and project teams in a clear, structured manner
- ensure all project deliverables, including drawings and written documents, meet Fuksas’ QA standards

Skills and qualifications:
- a minimum of ten years of experience managing large-scale, high-profile projects
- proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with strong project management and leadership capabilities
- extensive experience coordinating with clients, contractors and consultants to ensure seamless project execution
- strong design expertise, with a commitment to delivering high-quality architectural solutions
- proficiency in project planning, budgeting, and organisation
- technical problem-solving skills with a creative approach to architectural challenges
- expertise in 3D and 2D software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; Revit is a plus)
- fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian is an asset
