Studio Mackereth is hiring a studio manager to join its team in London on a part-time basis.
Studio Mackereth is seeking a self-motivated and organised studio manager to join its team of architects, interior and product designers in Shoreditch, London. The role is contracted to three days per week.
Responsibilities:
- managing the running of the office including reception duties, office email correspondence, filing, company renewals, membership subscriptions, ordering office supplies/equipment, liaising with office suppliers and consultants, management of studio calendar and office database and keeping areas of the office tidy
- HR administration involving staff development, appraisal arrangements, office events, visa sponsorship, maintaining office policies and awareness of regulations, recruitment and contracts, inductions for new staff and managing all personnel records confidentially and professionally
- finance management and administration are required towards reconciling all accounts, invoice payments, maintaining client payments and expense records, employee expenses, managing all stages of sales invoicing, payroll and liaison with the company accountants regarding VAT and pensions
- communications responsibilities include updating the website and social media channels, awards submissions, press and media liaison, assisting with photography and maintaining records of information released and published
- PA to principal and project support when required
Experience and skills:
- excellent written/verbal communication and editing skills with a keen attention to detail
- strong ability to prioritise tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, while working collaboratively and productively with all colleagues
- ability to read and comprehend financial transactions, to trace transactions through financial records
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- a high level of competence using Apple OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite (predominately Adobe InDesign and Photoshop) and accounting software Xero; some experience in Datamolino and WordPress or similar preferable
- a proven ability to creatively and effectively use social media to communicate key brand messages to various types of audiences
- previous experience of working in an architectural, interior or design setting is an advantage as well as some marketing and communication experience
- an appetite to learn new skills and an interest in being part of a growing practice
