Studio Seilern Architects is an international architectural practice established in 2006 by Christina Seilern with the intent of producing exceptional architecture that lasts, working across geographies, building sizes and typologies. With offices in London and New York, our portfolio spans the UK, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. 

Studio Seilern Architects undertakes a diversity of projects; it is our conscious decision to work on both small and large scales as well as simultaneously on new build to restoration works. Irrespective of size or context, each project undertaken informs another.

The role:

  • minimum six to eight years’ post-graduate experience in hospitality, residential and corporate interiors, with a background in luxury interiors
  • alongside the principal and head of interiors, develop the creative vision for the projects and communicate this to the design team
  • lead design research for projects, particularly during concept development. The task includes activities ranging from finding mood images for a particular design approach to establishing information about the specific site
  • establish the materiality for projects alongside the materials designer
  • understand SSA’s stylistic design standards to ensure they are adhered to at all stages of a project
  • delivery and management of drawing packages, specifications, and schedules. Ensuring SSA standards are executed
  • ability to understand the complexities of design and finishing details. Strong knowledge of joinery detailing
  • highly organised and resourceful – with a keen eye for colour, materials, and details
  • strong knowledge of suppliers, collating and delivering FF&E design schemes
  • ability to work across all RIBA work stages with an in-depth understanding of UK building regulations and codes
  • an understanding of onsite construction and procurement routes is desirable. Be able to manage projects and procurements of FF&E
  • ability to communicate effectively with the design team and suppliers. Onsite experience during construction phase and confidence to deal with contractor is desirable
  • support and mentor the team on interior and joinery detailing
  • strong free-hand sketching skills are desirable

Qualifications and IT skillset:

  • degree level in interior architecture or interior design
  • prof proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign and Photoshop. Revit and Enscape is desirable
