Associate – interior design/architecture

Sybarite is on the hunt for an associate – interior design/architecture to join it’s London-based team.

The ideal candidate will work across Sybarite’s portfolio of international
projects.

Sybarite is an architectural studio specialising in luxury retail and hospitality across the globe. The practice prides itself on a culture that embraces collaboration, creativity and innovation.

Overview and requirements:

  •  highly motivated and creative interior designer/architect with a passion for creating innovative and high-quality retail design
  • proven experience in design across all scales of interior architecture, primarily in luxury retail.
  • experience required in large scale department stores and/or
    the interior architecture of luxury malls
  • has a strong understanding and opinion of current retail and general design
    trends
  • strong understanding of detail and material specification
  • leadership and experience in managing and delivering architectural projects
  • strong leadership skills in managing and motivating architectural and interior design teams

Responsibility will include:

  • managing and motivating a team of architects and designers in delivering
    highly creative design solutions
  • managing the creative and technical delivery for projects, primarily to RIBA stage 4
  • team resourcing, budget management and performance management
  • actively participate in the growth of the company through the development
    and implementation of systems and mentorship
  • develop and challenge design briefs
  • self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • overseeing quality control of work produced within the team
  • highlight resource needs and timings required to deliver the workflow
  • coordination and management of appointed sub-contractors for the seamless integration of design services within projects
  • manage the delivery to ensure output aligns with agreed scope and level of
    required information

Skills:

  • relevant BA (Hons) qualification or above/Part-III architect
  • advanced level skills in AutoCAD and Rhino
  • an understanding of BIM and Revit
  • strong sketching ability
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work on and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • good people management, coaching and mentoring skills
  • ability to work to tight deadlines
