About the role
Sybarite is looking for a highly creative and talented designer (Part 2) to work on luxury retail, hospitality and mixed-use projects in Asia and the Middle East. Based in our west London studio, you will work within a multidisciplinary project team to design and realise projects for the most innovative retail and hospitality operators in the world.
Sybarite is seeking candidates who are passionate in design and keen to collaborate on key international shopping mall projects.
Sybarite is embarking on a period of transformative change around an expanding portfolio. This is a key role within the project team that will focus on interior design and interior architecture on large-scale luxury retail projects located in the Middle East and China (ranging from 100,000 – 800,000 sqm) from concept design to completion.
As a team member, you will balance design, technical ability and efficiency to deliver cohesive interior architectural projects that are aesthetically innovative and technically feasible.
About you:
- ARB/RIBA Part 2 or equivalent
- strong visual storytelling skills, naturally igniting great rapport and adapting style to all levels.
- superb knowledge of materials and finishes and confidently take responsibility from concept to completion
- able to confidently assist senior architects in the design and production of interior or architectural projects within the office
- consider the relationship between creativity and technical design as fluid
- collaborative with other disciplines such as signage, installation and branding
- expert-level knowledge of Rhino required, including both simple and complex geometries (visualisation expertise preferred)
- expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD required, with demonstratable experience producing robust architectural details and millwork details
- experience designing, scheduling, sourcing and delivering FF&E beneficial
- knowledge of Revit; Revit and BIM experience with fee earning work beneficial
- Enscape knowledge would be beneficial
- Grasshopper and parametric modelling knowledge beneficial
- previous experience working for an international firm with projects completed in the Middle East and China preferred
- fluent in English is required and fluency in Chinese is preferred
- hand sketching ideation from both a creative and technical perspective beneficial
- good communication skills and presentation skills
