Mid-weight interior designer
at The Hickson Design Partnership

THDP is seeking a mid-weight interior designer/architect to join its team in London, UK.

We are an interior design practice with studios in London and Milan, we are working in the UK and throughout Europe on high-end hospitality projects for major brands, due to recent successful projects, we are expanding our UK team, this post is based in London, UK.

You will be a mid-weight interior designer with at least four to five years’ appropriate experience and have specialised in hospitality interior design, you are looking to expand and grow your skills.

You have successfully worked on projects from inception to completion, demonstrating your skills at delivering exceptional quality design work, presentations, supporting drawings, and scheduling FF&E.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of hospitality projects under the directors’ supervision and will be able to demonstrate the following skills.

Your skills:

  • ability to work in a creative group and produce presentations and visuals for new projects
  • great knowledge of FF&E selection for hospitality four to five-star hotels
  • professional knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit would be useful
  • professional knowledge of SketchUp
  • very competent in producing fully detailed FF&E specifications including control books, materials, finishes, lighting and sanitary schedules for all aspects of luxury interior design
  • Adobe Suite, Photoshop and InDesign are essential requirements
  • ability to manage your time and the workflow of projects efficiently
  • experience dealing with suppliers and contractors
  • excellent communication skills
  • attention to detail
  • Speaking Italian would be an advantage
  • self-confident and receptive to constructive feedback
  • having a ‘can do’ problem-solving enthusiastic attitude is a must

Responsibilities:

  • taking direct briefings and working within a team environment on large hotel and restaurant projects efficiently and effectively
  • assisting in creating great concept designs, developing these designs within the team, and preparing documentation for client review
  • being creative, precise, and consistent
  • specifying FF&E and preparing mood and sample boards
  • preparing control books and FF&E schedules
  • the skill to visualise concepts and assist in their development
  • developing detailed designs choosing materials appropriate to the brief and handing complete developed proposals to others in your team
